(October 15, 2026) Naim’s Mu-so line has always been about fitting serious hi-fi performance into a single, beautifully finished box, but Mu-so Utopia takes that idea in an entirely new direction. This is the first Naim product to carry the Utopia name, borrowing acoustic expertise from Focal and combining it with the most sophisticated amplification Naim has ever developed for a Mu-so model, along with its latest Pulse streaming platform and advanced DSP. It’s also anything but petite. Measuring nearly 40" wide, with a low, deep chassis wrapped in brushed black anodized aluminum, finely perforated metal grilles, signature red Utopia trim, and Naim’s illuminated rotary volume control sitting proudly on top, Mu-so Utopia looks more like a purpose-built audio centerpiece than a conventional wireless speaker.
Inside, things get considerably serious. Mu-so Utopia carries 15 drivers and 720 watts of amplification, presenting seven drivers across the front, two on each side, and four firing upward. The front array includes three woofers, a pair of Focal M-profile W-cone midrange drivers, and two new-generation PRISM tweeters, while the side and top arrays use full-range drivers to help build out an immersive sound field. Naim uses a hybrid amplifier architecture, with Class D handling the heavy lifting and Class AB dedicated to the high frequencies, while its latest DSP manages frequency response, phase, timing, spatialization, and driver protection. The system is rated down to 30Hz within ±3dB, reaches a claimed 109dB SPL at 1 meter, and is designed to cover rooms up to roughly 538 square feet.
Onboard Dolby Atmos support extends up to 7.1.2, while Naim and Focal’s Sphere modes use beamforming, Crosstalk Cancellation, and reflected sound from surrounding walls and the ceiling to create a broader immersive field. Customizable audio modes include Sphere settings for music, movies, gaming, and podcasts, as well as Dolby Movie, Dolby Music, and a dedicated Night Mode. Naim’s Pulse Platform handles high-resolution streaming up to 384kHz/32-bit, while ADAPT tunes performance to a room's dimensions through the Focal & Naim app. AirPlay, Google Cast, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, UPnP, and internet radio are onboard, and HDMI eARC plus optical connectivity allow the Mu-so Utopia to pull double duty with TVs, Blu-ray players, and game consoles.
There’s even an RCA subwoofer output if 15 drivers somehow leave you wanting more bass.
Mu-so Utopia launches October 15 and will be sold exclusively through the Focal Powered by Naim dealer network. Naim’s international press materials list U.S. pricing at $5,500.
