Monolith HTP-1 16-Channel Processor

For those of you HTP-1 owners who also use BEQ, pink soda has just updated his custom interface to easily import BEQ filters into the HTP-1.

You can search titles right from his interface, and it includes the movies bass graph to the side. Once loaded, you can see the BEQ filters highlighted in yellow on the PEQ page. Once you're done with the movie, it's a single click to clear them out. He's done a really nice job incorporating it.

More details are available on the HTP-1 thread on AVS.

And if you like what he's done, please consider donating a few bucks. He has Paypal information right on the "About" section of his custom interface page.

Pink Soda's UI and additional functionality (like recordable macros that can be assigned to remote buttons too) is just awesome. I haven't used the monoprice version in so long I hardly recall what it looks like.

Hobie (the man behind the Monolith brand) was interviewed for The HiFi Summit 2021 Q2, and here he talks about the HTP-1 delays:

It's all related to the AKM 4493 chip supply.

Yep... the chip delays are hurting a LOT of manufacturers in various industries.

In the past few weeks there have been a good many owner's who've experienced a start-up "boot loop".
Monoprice has just released firmware 1.9.1 to prevent it.
If you fall victim to it just reach out to Monoprice support or you can follow the instructions found HERE.

Kudos to Monoprice for stepping up quickly to resolve the problem for their customers and for being transparent about the fix.
Here's Hobie's post on the subject.

I have installed 1.9.1 and can confirm that seems to be free of issues. I never experienced the "boot loop issue", so cannot confirm that the update resolves this issue.

For those of you that have been patient, Monoprice has given HTP-1 owners a wonderful Christmas present; Dirac Live ART is now available!

It's currently in a public beta firmware upgrade that includes other enhancements requested by the community. As you might imagine, the HTP-1 thread has erupted with information and questions with pages of posts added since this last Monday. Here's a good starting point from one of the original developers, talking about the ART upgrade: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/th...2176/page-1732?post_id=64372061#post-64372061

And here are the release notes:

If you are new to the HTP-1, we congratulate you on your purchase. If you are ready to try out the ART update, then welcome back. It’s been a while since we made a release. Integrating Dirac’s Active Room Treatment (ART) was a big collaboration and a labor of love. We are pleased to share this, which we call a public beta. Our group of testers have seen this develop now over several years. Now that Dirac has certified our build it’s ready for some more folks to try it out. The Dirac web site now has ART licenses available for HTP-1.
The decoder portions of the system are essentially unchanged, as is the HDMI interface. The Dirac Live filter system is completely replaced and updated. The user interface (UI) has evolved to support the features of ART.
There is an active AVSForum community populated by HTP-1 experts here: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/the-official-monoprice-monolith-htp-1-owners-thread.3112176/

This release note describes two releases. Releases of the form 1.x.y represent the existing non-ART line of firmware, while releases of the form 2.x.y incorporate ART.
1.13.0 - Incorporates community fixes listed below and provides access to the ART public beta
2.0.0 - The first ART public beta release. ART final will eventually be released as 2.1.0.
Here is a brief summary of the changes that are waiting for you in 2.0.0:
ART capable Dirac Live module replaces the previous Dirac Live BC (Bass Control) module.
Limited to 3 filter slots for the moment.
What was previously the “custom” UI is now the default UI, with further development.
The front panel code was rewritten to support touch features and network setup.
An all-pass filter option is added to PEQ filter types.
The PEQ module is moved to operate upstream of Dirac’s ART and BC modules, hence preserving phase relationships.
A balance pane is added to the UI to allow for the adjustment of channel gains without affecting the exact speaker response matching required by ART.
The post-Dirac trim and delay controls are locked when ART is active. This is a Dirac requirement.
One of the outputs can be configured as a simple seat shaker.
A more detailed overview of the changes ART brings can be found in the ART addendum to the user manual.

Hat's off to Monoprice for upgrading their flagship pre/pro by adding a state of the art (no pun intended) feature plus specific features that were requested and developed by the community. I can't think of another company that has actively included enthusiasts in the process in this way before. It's a great week for HTP-1 owners.
