(June 20, 2024) Meze Audio's latest move beefs up its entry-level offerings with a new, versatile in-ear monitor. The name ALBA translates as 'first light,' which perfectly describes a design that Meze's Product Manager Vlad Toca describes as a "perfectly accessible and qualitative introduction into the world of elevated audio enjoyment."

ALBA is a wired in-ear with a sound profile described as neutral with "an added touch of warmth." It achieves this by harnessing a 10.8 mm dynamic driver capable of dancing from the depths of 15Hz to the heights of 25kHz, paired with zinc alloy and anodized aluminum parts finished in a pearl-colored finish. Overall output can reach 108db.

Thanks to various connectivity options, ALBA can be paired with the latest iPhone, other smartphones with USB-C connectivity, and devices with a 3.5mm headphone socket. Its connection point is a custom-made USB-C adapter with an internal DAC. When separated, the adapter reveals a gold-plated 3.5mm connector.

ALBA earphones are available for order on mezeaudio.com from June 20, 2024. Priced at $159, it ships with four sizes of silicone ear tips, 2-pin connectors with a gold-plated 3.5mm jack, and a hard carry pouch.
