I'm assuming I can buy my way in, but in all the other forums I've joined, that's never been a criteria to be able to participate.
No offence: maybe there's a historical reason for it on this forum?

There is no minimum... we have quite a few members who have started a thread with their first post. You may be restricted from posting links in the thread initially.
