Meet Ammar "AJ" Jadusingh and Soundfield Audio: Bespoke Speaker Design Backed by Science

(March 3, 2026) At the Florida International Audio Expo, I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Ammar Jadusingh, better known to AV NIRVANA members as AJ (@AJ Soundfield), the force behind Soundfield Audio. If you've seen his posts over the years, you already know he's wired for this hobby, equal parts listener, builder, and relentless experimenter. In this interview, AJ shares how he caught the audio bug young, started hacking together DIY speakers before there was an internet to lean on, and how early mentors and an engineering path shaped the way he thinks about sound today.

We also talk about what AJ brought to the show, including prototype designs and the ideas that keep pushing his work forward, especially his preference for active speakers and the kinds of tricks that DSP and multi-channel amplification let him pull off. AJ also teases a surround recording project he is developing and why it could turn into something special once he has it dialed in.

AJ delivers fascinating conversation, and we'll be sure to get to know him and his take on audio through a live stream later this year. For now, this interview (despite a total audio failure on my part!) will give you plenty of insight into who AJ is beyond the forum handle – definitely worth watching.

Well, @AJ Soundfield, you held up your end of the bargain with a killer system. Sounded great!!! Was a real pleasure to meet you and spend some time hanging out!

Unfortunately, I had a complete microphone failure... the base connection to my camera must have been slightly detached, and the back recording on the mic units failed. So, the audio was captured natively by the camera. I did my best to clean it up, but FRUSTRATING!!!
