Hello from Rawdon, Québec, Canada.

I registered to this forum primarily to download the REW software. I haven't even really browsed the forums just yet, the amount of information is honestly a little staggering. I promise to first use the search function for information, but will gladly share measurements when I'll have them available for your perusal. Here is a breakdown of my current system and especially, room + treatments. Room first.

Room: I built a dedicated artist's studio/listening room as an outbuilding on my land out in the forest. The room is the first perfectly symmetrical listening environment I've had in my 15 years of this hobby. The dimensions are: 16' W x 26' L x 10'H. There are barely any windows to speak of, one door and a garage door on the back wall. Construction is very interesting as it isn't 2 x 4 studs, rather SIP panels, interior walls are all 7/16 plywood. 8" Cement slab floor.

Current treatments: - 3' x 4' 4" thick absorbers made with rigid Roxul boards, left and right sides, early reflections. 3' x 8' 2" thick front wall between speakers hidden behind a decorative textile.
- three various sized wool rugs
- an abundances of poly-cylindrical diffusors made with coroplast corrogated plastic, mostly placed higher up on the walls, say 6' and up, all around the building. This idea was swiped from an article by Paul Klipsch in a Dope from Hope from the 60s.

System: Sources: Lenco L70 with Shure M3D cartridge, Schiit Mani phono preamp, Denon TU-500 tuner, Oppo DVD, Mass Fidelity BT receiver, iMac
Preamp: Schiit Saga S
Amplifiers: 3W/CH 2A3 SET, Trends TA-10.2, NAD C320BEE
Speakers: Heavily modified 1979 Klipsch LaScala with AA crossovers. Tweeter lens and driver changed, A55G midrange driver, Q-Pie bass bins with the original K-33 15" driver (based on a design found on the Klipsch forums, essentially a fully horn loaded bass bin down to 50hz as opposed to the LaScala bass bin which is only horn loaded down to around 100hz or so, after which it behaves like a DR.)
Dedicated, 20A circuit with 10 awg wire.
Cables: nothing fancy at all, mostly from monoprice. Speaker wire is 16awg Belden tinned copper.

That's about the longest I've ever written about my system. Here's a picture of it as it is now.

My listening chair is on wheels, so I can choose my listening position at will.

That's about it for now. I'll get REW sorted out and post some graphs.

Welcome to the forum!

Here are my very first measurements, as in, first time ever using a mic to measure anything. Please let me know if my limits and controls are totally useless, I don't even really understand half of the graphs. From what I can see in the Waterfall plots, things get pretty chaotic below 150hz. I'm considering adding some horn loaded subwoofers and hope that'll help smooth things out a little.

If you post those over in the REW support forum, you’ll probably get a quicker response than you would here. This area is just to introduce yourself.
