(May 11, 2021) LUXMAN is digging 30 years into its past to celebrate 95 years of existence, launching the all-new L-595A Special Edition Integrated Amplifier. The L-595ASE pays homage to the company's L-570 series Class A integrated amps, replicating appearance and performance factors enjoyed by audiophiles just a few short decades ago.
The exterior of the L-595ASE explodes with personality thanks to a two-tone faceplate complete with a black Alumite lower section and a hairline finish. Throwback details include aluminum direct selection switchgear with indicators and a volume knob accentuated by a deep counterbore and level indicator light. Save for a few minor details, like new density gradient cast-iron feet, the L-595ASE looks like it was unearthed from a time capsule.
Internally, the L-595ASE is Class A from top to bottom, eliminating crossover distortion during playback. Its amp section is rated at 30 watts per channel (2 channels, 8 ohms), utilizing a three-stage Darlington equipped, triple push-pull configuration for an impressive signal-to-noise ratio and high-frequency distortion characteristics. LUXMAN touts the inclusion of a highly regulated power transformer with independent left and right channel high-capacity filter capacitors and large speaker relays that lend to low impedance at the speaker terminals.
Design details intended to impact sound quality are found throughout the L-595ASE's circuitry, including LUXMAN's latest ODNF-u feedback circuit for improved error detection and its all-new LECUA1000 88-step electronically controlled volume attenuator. Engineers even removed a potential source of high-frequency noise on the joint input/output circuit board by ditching resistant green film coatings.
The L-595ASE rounds out its pre-amp duties with a built-in phono amplifier offering MM/MC compatibility.
LUXMAN's L-595A Special Edition is limited to 100 units in North America (300 units worldwide) and carries a price tag of $11,995 MSRP. Preorders can be placed through authorized dealers.
