While HDMI 2.1 is looming (we might see something with 2.1 at CEDIA?), long runs of HDMI cable for 4K/HDR applications are an issue. Most standard passive HDMI cables can only be run about 20ft before 4K/HDR is unusable.

This thread is for 4K owners to share their cable experiences.

My run needs about 40-45 feet. After some investigating, I went with the RUIPRO HDMI Fiber Optic Cable... costs about $179 for 15 meters. A major benefit is the fact that the cable is super thin and flexible.

I used my initial purchase for about 3 months, then experienced a failure (happened right at the end of my last review). I was moving some equipment around, and in the process, the cable stopped working. It's an active cable... for some reason it didn't like some part of the move.

The company has a 2 year warranty... which I've exercised and the replacement is working fine.

If you're in the market for a long run HDMI, the RUIPRO is a good option.

When I originally bought my Sammy K8500 I had serious issues with my 35' Monoprice garden hoses, so after discussions, I bought (2) PlugLug 25' cables from Amazon for like $17 each, and they both work perfectly.
I made sure to buy the WHITE ones, when I tried to change the color, the specs lowered, so I just got the white ones..not sure if it was a website error or the truth, but I didn't take the risk.
Worked fine on the Sammy, and now the Opportunity 203.
I know after 25' you're asking for trouble without going fiber/active...glad my room is small for once!
