Never had to deal with this before...

I'm trying to take some LF measurements, and there is a HUGE component in the 20 to 25 Ha range (on RTA and on sweeps) that is messing them up. Only thing I can figure is that it is from the choppers in the area assisting fire fighters at Pogue Mountain (NC), about 5 miles away, where they have been fighting a fire for several days. You can just hear them in the distance when outside. Guess I'll have to work on something else for awhile.

If it's not one thing it's another....

Being near an airport I've run into that situation before when doing a lot of measuring.

Not too long ago I was doing some measurements in the morning and started hearing the roof guys walking on the roof, finishing up our new roof. It was only a few minutes before they started hammering nails. They didn't stop until after lunch, so I was delayed a good while.

There's a speed bump right outside my house. With 80% of the cars it's no problem, but the other 20% either go over them too fast and scrape something or have loud exhaust and feel the need to hit the accelerator way too hard since they had to slow down for the bump. My wife stays up late and I keep telling myself to wait until midnight for measurements or running Audyssey. A 5.1.4 system give you lots of chances to be disappointed.

Hmmm, RTA sure, but Sweep measurements should be quite immune to random noises. You could try the longest sweeps and multiples. But I guess the choppers could be reverberating around the hills.
