Hi!
i use REW with UMIK 1 and calibration file at 90degree for a 5.1 studio setup.
Oddly there is a difference with the SPL metering between 5.20 and 5.30 version. (about 3 dB in C weighting slow) What am I missing?
Cheers for the good work!

OK I'll check again tomorrow. But I had it on 2 different computers...

I managed to install 3 instances of REW. Settings are the same.
I think the version5.20.13 is the correct value. I had been using this version until now and it is almost the same reading ( 81dBCslow) as an average SPL meter (AZ8922).
The reading from all 5.30 versions are significantly lower. see screenshot.

Didn't realise you are on macOS, sorry. The bug is in 5.20.13, which reads 3 dB high on macOS with USB-C UMIK-1. That was fixed in one of the 5.20.14 early access builds on 5th February last year.

Thank you for the follow up.
So with the new updates, the reading seems a bit low to me, but I will compare with other SPL meters.
THANX

Hello John,
It took me awhile but I managed to check different systems and different SPL meters and it seems that all the readings of REW/Mac OS/ UMIK 1 are always about 3dB lower. I measure the Dolby band limitted BLITS noise with C weighting/slow
As I mix for cinema it is important that I can calibrate my system to be cinema compatible. I will take this difference in account to be more exact with movie theaters, but maybe you can check if there is not a bug with the REW reading.
Cheers!

You can adjust the sens factor figure in the mic's cal file if you believe it is incorrect.
