(January 20, 2026) HDMI reliability is one of the most critical pressure points in a modern AV system, especially as bandwidth demands climb and installations grow increasingly more complex. At ISE 2026, Kordz plans to lean directly into that reality with the debut of its new R.4 48Gbps Rack and Marine Passive HDMI Cable, a professional-grade solution built specifically for mission-critical environments where signal failure is not an option.

Designed as a successor to the popular R.3 18Gbps model, the R.4 introduces a series of structural and electrical upgrades, such as a full-metal casing and a 95% copper braid shield, to improve stability, airflow management, EMI resistance, and long-term reliability in both rack-based AV systems and demanding marine installations. At its core is full 48Gbps bandwidth support, enabling uncompressed 8K signal transmission and compatibility with the entire HDMI 2.1 feature set. That includes eARC for high-bitrate audio return from a display, Variable Refresh Rate for gaming and interactive content, and Quick Media Switching to eliminate moments of blank screens when changing frame rates.

Kordz says each cable is independently performance tested and certified to the DPL Labs Enhanced 48Gbps Reference Standard, a process intended to verify interoperability and stability across real-world HDMI signal chains rather than relying solely on theoretical lab specifications.

For rack use, the R.4 introduces a compact die-cast connector assembly combined with a slimmer cable diameter to support cleaner cable dressing and improved airflow in high-density equipment racks. Kordz is also offering the cable in 0.3 meter length increments, ranging from 0.3 meters up to 3.0 meters, giving installers more precise control over routing and minimizing excess slack behind equipment.

Marine installations present a different set of challenges, and the R.4 is built to address those as well. The cable incorporates a reinforced HDMI connector rated at 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of retention force to resist vibration and movement commonly found on boats and yachts. It also uses a fully LSZH cable construction that meets IEC60332, IEC60754, and IEC61034 standards for low-smoke and zero-halogen performance. This makes the R.4 suitable for marine and other compliance-driven applications where fire safety, material standards, and long-term durability are critical requirements.

Attendees at ISE 2026 can see the new R.4 48Gbps Rack and Marine Passive HDMI Cable in person at the Kordz booth, Stand #2F550, where the company will be highlighting its latest professional connectivity solutions for high-performance AV installations. Availability is currently scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
