Klipsch Launches $25,000 Version of Its Klipschorn Speaker to Celebrate 75 Years

(November 5, 2021) Klipsch is celebrating its 75 years by offering a limited edition run of 75 pairs of its iconic Klipschorn loudspeaker. First developed in 1946 by company founder Paul W. Klipsch, it’s the only speaker in the world to be in continuous production for 75 years and has remained relatively unchanged since its inception.

The 75th Anniversary Klipschorn AK6 possesses a fully enclosed low-frequency horn cabinet that functions as a corner, producing generous room placement flexibility, powerful bass, and improved imaging. The use of a 1” titanium tweeter and 90° x 40° Tractrix horn propels high frequencies beyond 20kHz.

The speaker’s stunning real wood teak veneer and lambswool grilles were chosen specifically to highlight the elegance and longevity of the model, while paying homage to the mid-century modern design tenets present in the Klipsch Heritage series. That look is complemented by a sterling silver 75th logo and a natural diamond on the front of the speaker. Klipsch says the logo’s finish is complete with hand-applied enamel and rhodium plating, while a backside commemorative plaque with a laser engraved serial number and date also includes a signature of the speaker’s craftsperson.

Owners will receive an engraved record-size box loaded with goodies. Items include a 75th anniversary book, poster, a lighted logo sign, a pair of Klipsch T5 II earphones engraved with the 75th logo, a set of four leather coasters, and a certificate of authenticity. They’ll also receive a free one-year membership to the Klipsch Museum of Audio History and a three-month Qobuz membership.

Each Heritage speaker continues to be designed and handcrafted in the USA with grain-matched wood veneer panels from the same timber. The result is speaker pairs that are indistinguishable from one another.

The 75th Anniversary Klipschorn speakers will set you back quite a few grand, landing at Certified Klipsch Heritage Dealers with a price tag of $25,000 per pair (MSRP). Each sale is backed by a 10-year warranty.

I've always admired these speakers... wanted to own them on many occasions. Not sure how well they would fair in my room, but wouldn't mind finding out one day.

The Jubilees are now the most expsnsive Klipsch speaker at $35,000. I would love to hear them both together to see what the differences are.
I like that idea... :T

And really I don't see what you get for this crazy upcharge-doesn't seem like the drivers are really upgraded. Special edition for enthusiasts I guess? The teak is cool so if ya go the $$$ you can have a unique set.

I always admired these speakers ... and (since a long time :daydream:) want to build a supersized / upscaled, room-high version using 4 18 or 21" drivers, to use as the ultimate subwoofer whose in-room extension should go well into the subsonic range.

Do not forget the Jubilee is the new king of the Klipsch speakers, and Klipsch is now trying to compete with the very high end speakers.

This is all about the bling. I suspect that this is a release largely intended to thank high-volume dealers.
