I read some good advice from this crazy- audiophile advice site that I saw in my Google Feed.

My wife says my Google Feed knows more about me than anybody else. Very possible.

Call the electrician is a good tip. Low cost. Can lower noise. Lighting especially. Loose connections etc... $1,000 goes a long way here.

Bass traps are good too. I just tried some GIK Turbo Trap Pros (read my review) which I loved. Sadly, they got tossed last week post Palisades Fire. Soft goods. Toxic. They worked GREAT and were CHEAP. I will likely use some in-wall (in the stud bay) options from RPG in my new install. Tony Grimani is doing my new room which is exciting. We are using studio doors to cut down on noise in my room. My Gen One K-scape is great for ripping DVDs but NOISY AF

Another upgrade is for the 40 CFM fan in the ceiling of my "mechanical room" which will be replaced with at least one 200 CFM fan that is silent. That will help too as I want more Pass Labs Class A amps (monos?) and they get SUPER HOT when on - especially behind doors.

The idea of removing a coffee table is good advice as it physically reflects sound RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU when you are listening. That's no good.

What other "free" room treatments have you guys tired? Or "affordable" options?

I think literally nothing (perhaps a nice carpet/rug) would be better.

The point seems to be to keep physical things from reflecting your center image. :)

Hi Kal,

Good advice.

Tony Grimani is working on my room for when I move back post-palisades fire. One option that I can't make logistically work is a good one which is an isolation product for under the carpet. Rubber, wood etc... It is 3/4 in tall which is causing me a real world issue but Tony suggests that the effect can not just isolate sound from the master bedroom below (our house is upside down - good for views) but also supposedly bass trap like effect too. I had GIKs acoustic Turbo Trap pros but they were bulky. I've had RPG Modex plates in the past. Perhaps something like that again next. Not sure.
