(August 30, 2021) Kaleidescape arrived at CEDIA 2021 with new product news, headlined by its all-new Terra 72, a 72 terabyte movie server designed to seamlessly integrate with its Strato C player.

Much like its 24 terabyte and 48 terabyte versions of Terra, Terra 72 allows for full 4K UHD movie downloads in as little as 10 to 12 minutes (assuming gigabit internet) and can simultaneously support 4K playback on up to 10 Strato C players. It can also download content while also supporting playback on Strato C players. Due to its cavernous storage capabilities, owners can save some 1,200 4K UHD movies on Terra 72, and even more when considering a typical mix of Blu-ray and 4K UHD quality films.

“The Kaleidescape Terra 72 is the largest 4K movie server we have developed to date, designed specifically for customers looking to move from disc to digital or increase their collection through our award-winning movie store,” said Tayloe Stansbury, CEO, Kaleidescape. “The new offering can store nearly 1,200 high fidelity 4K UHD movies in unrivaled quality, delivering faster download speeds and a seamless playback experience for the ultimate movie collector.”

Kaleidescape outfits its Terra servers with multiple enterprise-quality hard drives designed to continue operating even in the unlikely event of a drive failure. And, in the event of a failure (or if the server becomes full of content), owners can add and remove titles using Kaleidescape’s free cloud storage. AV NIRVANA recently reviewed a full Terra + Strato C system and found exceptional levels of performance across equipment, playback, and usability, noting the system's ability to streamline content discovery and acquisition. Terra 72 carries a hefty MSRP of $23,995 and is available for purchase now.
