Note powerline ethernet adapters need to be on the same electrical leg in order to function. Usually this would be all the same odd breakers or all the same even breakers.

Have you ever installed anything like this?

No. I built my own house 4 years ago and did not install any ethernet cables. I use Wi-Fi 6 and have plenty of distributed speed for streaming 4K throughout the house to many devices simultaneously. My Kaleidescape Strato 12Tb is connected to the wireless network and can download at its maximum speed.

Wi-Fi 7 is now out and will provide a a maximum theoretical speed of 46Gbps:

802.11x: Wi-Fi standards and speeds explained

But, you have your Strato-C hardwired to the Terra server, yes?

If you have some old coax cables that aren't used anymore (cable or satellite feed) then you could use Ethernet Over Coax with MoCA Adapters. This does work better then the Powerline Ethernet Adaptors

I got the Kaleidescape system in and connected, but I can't get it to show up on the TV. I only see the following:

The network connection is good. I swapped out the connection with my FireCube which is working fine. The switch is a GB switch. It shows up on my computer that it is connected to the Strato C.

System is activated... software up to date. Dunno.

Tried restarting both units... showed Connecting to Kaleidescape Server and eventually showed the same as above... cannot connect. It seems odd that I can connect to the IP address of both units on my computer. I'm also surprised that you need to connect each box to the network. It would make more sense to have the Strato connect directly to the server instead of having to go thru the network.

I can see both on the network from my computer.

I should add, there’s a couple of methods in the Guide. If one’s not working the other may?

Hmmm... I now see this... duh!

One moment please...

Their "one moment" should read "Several minutes please... (listen to a few songs while you wait)"

A bit flakey ... 2.5 hours and still "One moment please." Decided to restart it all and it shows up. :dontknow:

Glad you got working finally, it's been a couple of years since I set mine up, but I don't recall having any major issues. If I recall correctly, once you register the server it will show up in the browser under settings by going directly to the server IP. Then to add your player it will show up in the settings for you to add to the system after it's powered on.

Yeah... I do not remember doing this the first time I had it, but I think the system I had was a one-box system with the server and player combined, maybe. It's been a while. I was able to access the player and the server via IP address, but they weren't communicating with each other until I grouped them together.

Are most all the really good new movies going to be 39.99 to buy?

$39.99 is a Warner thing. They started doing this with their marquee titles I think around The Batman. They’ll drop eventually. Warner seems to be making poor business decisions on purpose these days, from scrapping completed films to this highly inflated pricing.

I have a good wish list created. When something in my wish list goes on sale I get notifications, and can buy them then. It’s worked pretty well for me.

I'll second Travis, make a wish list of what you like/want, most will go on sale if you want to wait. I'd also recommend hooking up a external BD player and catalog some of your existing titles so you can upgrade with the Disk to Digital price.

Yeah... I'll do the wish list myself... good idea.

Sonnie, I was offline on Sunday... so, I missed your tech moment. Tho, I'm with VJM. It's been a minute since I've set up my system and I don't remember having any big issues. Looks like you figured it out!

Definitely create a wishlist. And the Kscape store also has weekly sales promotions that keep the low price offerings fresh.

Already found several I want. Some I have but I can't get them in HDR or UHD in the digital download.

I assume HDR is the best and what I would want to download? This is what it defaults to.

Yes, 4K HDR is the top tier

UHD is a great option if you don’t have a good, existing tone mapping solution in place for a projector. Before I added the Lumagen I used the UHD downloads quite frequently.
