Just Ordered an Anthem 720

Well, I broke down and ordered an Anthem MRX 720. It will be replacing my Denon 4520ci. I’m very excited to try ARC and Dolby Atmos. If anyone has any experience please discuss.

I'm super curious to read your impressions about ARC. It's one calibration package that I've had relatively little experience with. You're hopping off a platform that gave you access to Audyssey MultEQ XT32... so you should have a really good point of reference.

As for Atmos, you definitely want to pick up the right flicks to give that a spin. Are you installing ceiling channels?

Yes I’m putting in 4 ceiling speakers. I’ve been using it X32 for a long time. Honestly I’ve never have been impressed with it. I also have used Dirac. The learning curve for Dirac was not for me, the result was good, but not life changing.

I, too, am very interested in your impressions of ARC. I was going to purchase a previous generation Anthem AVR with ARC but had to put it off due to budgeting. I hope it's a better user experience for you than Dirac.

Definitely pickup Gravity Diamond Luxe Edition and Deepwater Horizon... Atmos mixes on those two films are reallllly impressive!

I guess the impact of these various correction suites is vastly different from room to room and user to user... will be fun to read your ARC experience. Especially with your Audyssey and Dirac background.
