The weather is nice, for the most part, and the house needs a painting (at least the back side).
Refused to pay thousands for someone to re-paint the house. Gonna do it myself.
Bought a Graco Airless Paint sprayer, 24 ft ladder, 10 Gallons of paint (likely will need another 5 Gallons to finish the house), some protective gear, and usual products tape, plastic etc. Have the week off of work....

Only used a sprayer once, when I painted the interior of my garage.
So far my cost is:
Sprayer $300
Ladder $150
Paint $450
Other supplies $100

Let's see if we can't keep this under $1500

The one thing I despise is painting. I have done it many a times... but man I just absolutely hate it.

A sprayer will no doubt make it easier. I have an air sprayer setup myself that I used on my DIY subwoofer builds over the years... and a few other small projects. We don't have a lot to paint on our house... underneath the porches and our various posts to support the porches and carport. They need painting now, but I will hire someone to do it. We will stain our cabin I am building and its porch/deck when the time comes, and I will likely hire that out as well.

I'll paint inside... but outside? That's a bold move! I've never used a sprayer... but I'd imagine a good one would help make the job a little more palatable!

I'm with Sonnie in that I despise painting - inside or out. I'm at the point now where it's worth the money to let someone else do the job.

I'm not having luck with the weather.....it rained today. It's looking like I might not be able to start painting until Wednesday......It would be really annoying if I don't get this done before I go back to work in a week.

I can't blame you guys for not wanting to paint, I'm still young enough to be stubborn and take these projects on myself. I'm sure it won't be long before I just start paying the money out, for convenience....like maybe when I retire in 12 yrs.

Ended up spending another $125 on a 50 ft sprayer hose extension and 50 ft extension power cord in the proper gauge required for the sprayer.
Picture one is house prior to painting, Picture two is half painted, Picture three is done. I only painted the backside today. I repainted it the original color, faded that much from the sun over the last 7 yrs.

Painted one side of the house today. I think that's all for me except some trim clean up. Not gonna attempt the front or other side as there are multiple roofs, think i will pay out for the rest to be completed. Even so, all in I will have saved at least two grand by painting half the house myself.

Yep... head on over here when you get done. I don't have near as much to paint, so it won't take you quite as long.

Hey... we are only talking underneath our front and back porch and 10-12 6x6 posts. Then you might could stain my cabin for me too.

Wait a second...I see what's going on. Underneath front and back porch....those sound like spider and snake hide outs. :hide:

lol... clarification... the ceiling of the front and back porches... heehee

And we got LOTS of guns for the snakes and the spiders. We will blow them to smithereens.

No problem with the steaks and the company. :T
