Took a field trip to into Best Buy today while Mrs JStewart was in the fabric store and what do you know, they had a space set up for Lovesac with the “stealth” audio system on board.
The right and left speakers are in the armrests, up to 4 other speakers spread around between them (surround) and the sub is located under the seat with the dark pillow. The center is a sound bar under the display that I should have grabbed a pic of, but didn’t. The signal is sent from the processor to a receiver in the sofa via Bluetooth. XLR connectors are used between the Sofa’s receiver and each of the speakers.
So how did it sound? I’ll put it this way, it’s not the sound stage and imaging experience most of us audio enthusiasts are looking for, but it was immersive and fun! The sub also provided a nice tactile experience. In the short time I had to listen, I found the tonal balance to be really decent. Absolutely nothing stood out as peaky or offensive. There’s definitely some EQing going on here with the speakers behind the cushions and they seem to have done a good job.
For a family or living room set up with a TV this has appeal. Just use something else too if you want good stereo reproduction in the same room.
Some other surprises I hadn’t run into at BB before.
That‘s some honest to goodness hifi there!
