Inside the ProSource 1010 Experience Center: An Exclusive AV NIRVANA Tour

(September 8, 2026) Every once in a while, an opportunity comes along that’s simply too good to pass up. During my recent trip to Denver, Colorado, AV NIRVANA had the chance to spend some quality time inside the ProSource 1010 Experience Center in Golden, and calling it impressive is probably selling it short.

Friend of AV NIRVANA and longtime friend of our community, Brett Bjorkquist, invited me in for an exclusive one-on-one tour of the entire facility, opening the doors to a space unlike anything else I’ve encountered in the custom integration world. And when I say we toured the entire facility, I mean it. Brett and I were the only two people inside for the duration of the visit, which gave us the freedom to move from room to room, dig into the details, talk about how the spaces are used, and explore just about every corner of the building.

The resulting walkthrough clocks in at roughly two hours and ten minutes, so this wasn’t a quick spin through a few showcase rooms. It was a full-access look at what ProSource has created in Golden and why the 1010 Experience Center has become such an important resource for its members, vendor partners, and the broader integration community.

For those who aren’t familiar with ProSource, the organization represents roughly 550 specialty retailers and custom integrators across the United States. At its core, ProSource is a buying group that pools the collective purchasing power of its membership, giving smaller independent dealers and integrators access to many of the advantages traditionally associated with much larger organizations. But buying power is only one piece of the puzzle. ProSource also provides its members with education, training, networking opportunities, vendor relationships, and business resources designed to help independent companies compete, grow, and stay current in a rapidly evolving industry. The 1010 Experience Center brings many of those elements together under one roof.

And what a roof it is.

Opened in Golden, the 1010 Experience Center was designed as a hands-on destination where ProSource members, manufacturers, integrators, clients, architects, designers, electricians, and other industry professionals can experience real-world technology in spaces that closely resemble finished residential installations. And those spaces cover virtually every corner of the connected home and premium AV world. Dedicated home theaters showcase complete systems in rooms that look and feel like something an integrator might actually deliver to a client, while several two-channel listening rooms give brands an opportunity to present their products in surroundings that complement their identity. Elsewhere, dedicated areas showcase lighting, control, networking, automation, and other technologies that have become increasingly intertwined with modern audio and video installations.

One of the things that struck me during the tour was just how different the individual spaces feel.

The KLH listening room is a great example. Rather than feeling like another generic demo room with a pair of speakers dropped in, the room has a personality that fits the KLH brand and gives visitors a proper environment to sit down and experience the system. Vinyl, leather, good bourbon, and tweed dominate the space's classic feel. Elsewhere in the building, other two-channel spaces take their own approach, creating distinct listening experiences instead of simply repeating the same formula from room to room.

The home theater side of the facility is equally impressive.

ProSource has multiple theater demonstrations on-site, each offering a different approach to premium cinema. These aren’t empty training shells with equipment temporarily rolled into position. They’re completed environments, allowing members and their clients to experience finished systems and better understand how different technologies work together when properly designed and installed.

That makes the Experience Center especially valuable because much of the custom integration business revolves around technologies that are difficult to appreciate from a specification sheet alone. You can read about a projector, processor, loudspeaker, lighting system, control platform, or acoustic treatment all day long. Seeing those products installed correctly is different. Experiencing them as part of a finished room is different again. The 1010 Experience Center gives ProSource members a place where those conversations can happen with the technology operating in the kind of environment where it’s actually intended to live.

The facility also plays a major role in ProSource’s training efforts. Dedicated education spaces host ProSource academies, manufacturer instruction, small working groups, lighting education, product demonstrations, and other events throughout the year. For members, that creates an opportunity to bring teams into one location where they can learn about products, installation techniques, system design, and the business side of integration without relying exclusively on trade shows or individual manufacturer visits.

There’s also an obvious networking component to what ProSource has built. Manufacturers can use 1010 to train dealers, introduce new products, host events, and get their technology in front of the people responsible for specifying and selling it. Integrators can bring staff members or clients into a controlled environment where multiple categories and brands can be demonstrated side by side. Architects, designers, and other trade professionals can also see how these technologies fit into real residential spaces rather than trying to visualize them from catalogs and drawings.

That combination makes 1010 much more than a showroom. It’s part demonstration facility, part education center, part industry meeting place, and part laboratory for understanding how all of these technologies come together inside a modern home.

Brett was incredibly generous with his time, and because we essentially had the building to ourselves, our tour became much more than a simple room-by-room walkthrough. We were able to stop, talk about products, discuss why the spaces were designed the way they were, take a behind-the-scenes look, and get a much better feel for how ProSource actually uses the facility.

It was fun. Perhaps too much fun, because by the time we finished, the camera had been rolling for more than two hours.

The complete, uncut, 2-hour-and-10-minute tour is available below for anyone who wants the full experience. If that’s more ProSource than you can tackle in one sitting, I’ve also broken the visit into individual videos dedicated to specific rooms and areas throughout the facility. Those curated segments make it easy to jump directly into the theaters, listening rooms, training areas, and other spaces that interest you most.

I highly recommend spending some time with them. Photos can give you a sense of what the 1010 Experience Center looks like, but video does a much better job of conveying the building's scale and just how much technology ProSource has assembled inside. More importantly, Brett gives us the story behind the spaces as we move through them, turning the tour into something far more informative than a simple walk-and-look video.

Many thanks to Brett Bjorkquist and the entire ProSource team for opening the doors to our community and giving us such unrestricted access to the 1010 Experience Center. It’s a world-class facility, an incredible resource for ProSource members, and one of the more interesting AV destinations I’ve had the opportunity to explore.
