(November 21, 2025) SVS rolled into Capital Audiofest with an ambitious presence, blending traditional stereo listening with a second space that leaned into creative system building and immersive playback formats. In an exclusive interview, we sat down with SVS’s Nick Brown to unpack how the company paired its Ultra Evolution loudspeakers with a fully discrete multichannel Orchard Audio amplifier stack to play quadraphonic music, Dolby Atmos tracks, and cinematic demo scenes.

In a more traditional hi-fi room, SVS kept things classic with Ultra Evolution Pinnacle towers driven by Hegel amplification. Then, a second room took a different approach, designed around Orchard Audio’s GaN-based StarCrimson ULTRA and StarCrimson 25 mono amplifiers, one amplifier per loudspeaker, tied together with RICables. The result was a space where attendees could move fluidly between quadraphonic mixes, spatial audio, immersive Atmos music, and high-impact movie clips, all while exploring how the Ultra Evolution series performs across formats.

In our interview, Nick walked us through how the room came together, why quad albums like Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon still surprise modern listeners, and how this setup highlights SVS’s emphasis on accessibility, community, and price-to-performance.
