Improvement on musical fidelity ms5i phone stage

currenlty using a musical fidelity Ms5i amp, turnable is antechnics 1210 mk2 with denon dl110 high output mc cartridge fed straight into the amps internal phono stage.

i am toying with the idea of maybe going the external phono stage route and would be interested to hear some opinions about what one would need to spend to improve upon the stage internal to the amp.

would probably keep the denon dl110 as until now its the best sounding cartridge i have had albeit a bit on the quiet side going into a mm stage.

and recommendations regarding if this is a worthwhile idea and if it would make a big quality difference would be great to hear

Is it a worthwhile idea? Sure... I would look at tube phono stages in the $1,500 to $2,500 range... Maybe a Manley Chinook... Or even a tube Preamp with a nice phono stage... It all depends on your taste in sound...

Wondering how much of a difference that external DAC made from the internal one in the Ms5i Integrated...
