my basement renovation is getting close to completion and I’m planning on re-installing my NSM wallmount Juke Box next week. I’m going to order a few new CDs to mix things up. The player is loaded with quite a bit of classic and modern rock (I wish I had a list to share). I’m going to add Post Malone (possibly one other similar artist, like Quinn XCII, for my teenagers)... and RAC “Strangers” and a Jason Isbell album.

Wondering if anyone has a favorite album that they used to dial up in a bar or pool hall back in the day... or maybe modern day! I’m hoping to get a few ideas!

Can't go wrong with Toto, still one of my favorite bands from the 80s
Their latest album 40 trips around the sun is mostly remastered classics but also some new stuff and is really good
The previous album Toto XIV is awesome

Anything with RUSH is good. :)

George Thorogood & The Destroyers

I like these suggestions. I don't think any of the three are in the rotation.

I was also thinking something along the lines of Blues Traveller?

If you dont already have it Lee Ritenour 6 String Theory is a must have, I do believe that it was one of the last recordings that BB King did before his passing in May of 2015

I don't have that... is it accessible to a lot of listeners? Or is it more niche?

Yes its very popular to at least the jazz/blues community. Give it a listen

Do you have a list of what you have in there now? I've always been a Doors fan, LA Woman is great!

I don't have a list... and the Juke Box is all wrapped up in storage. But your question is well taken. ;-)

The Doors are definitely on there, tho. :T

SRV is already on there!

Bonnie Raitt (Spelling?):" Luck of the draw." Just for when you want to change things up.

Some CCR has to be on there somewhere.

CCR is definitely already on there - pretty much a must have in any Juke Box!

One band that I don't have in there... Looking Glass. Their first self-titled album is actually pretty good.

There she blows! Mounting her on the wall today!

Won’t be up an running for a few weeks. But, progress!

I’m guessing Dire Straits Brothers in Arms is already in there?

It is not! But I own it... that’s a must add. Good call!!

She’s all mounted. Weighs roughly 200lbs with CDs loaded... it’s an awkward weight, too. It’s size and low mass make it difficult to dead lift off the ground. Luckily, I have this Escalera with a custom built lift plate made for pinball machines. Got the job done without breaking a sweat!

Here’s a few photos of the innards. I think I may have posted picks like this a year or two ago. I can’t remember! It’s interesting, none the less, So I snapped some shots while I had it open to install the security bolt.

One of the real buggers about these juke boxes is making sure the plastic covers for each CD info sheet are tucked beneath the surrounding plastic tabs. I took a close up so you can see them. You miss one little tab, and the whole mechanism jams and stops working. Honestly, it’s mind boggling that such a temperamental design was ever deployed for location use. The last thing an operator would have wanted is to get a call from a bar at 1AM when the juke box was jammed and not working!

This particular machine was manufactured in 1995 and severed its life at a bar in New York City.

Sound quality is middling... but fun factor is off the charts!

This is the first piece of equipment coming out of storage... should be powered up and running in the next few weeks!

That is so cool Todd! You’ve got one of the nicest man caves I’ve ever seen. I’d probably be in trouble because I’d spend way too much time down there.

Thanks man... the old man cave is completely gone :-(. But Version 2.0 is going to be pretty sweet (I hope)! I’ll have pics up when it’s all said and done.

Never too late!

In fact, I think it came with Bad Company. I should dig through the stack of CDs that came with it
