Headaches with Roon Convolution

I’m using, with great success, Audiolense + Convolver to deal with x/o and room equalization. The reason for the post is that I’m looking to trial using Roon for convolution and am having untold problems which I am sure others will have addressed. Situation
  • Speaker set-up is FL and FR set-up as “small” with bass routed to two Subwoofers (see first picture)
  • Just using 2.0 sources with Roon has been set-up to enable 5.1 with channel mapping (see second picture)
  • Original configuration from AL has a format 960000 2 4 0 (see below) and fails
  • Editing the configuration to have 96000 2 6 0 (see below) also fails
The problem is that, in all cases, Roon reports a playback error. If I remove the convolution then I get 2.0 playback fine. I'm sure that I'm missing something simple. Any suggestions?

The 5.1 channel mapping with the second cfg should work. Try editing the name of the file to mar22.cfg, mar22.wav, and mar22.zip. See if it works. Sometimes long names with underscores trip Roon.

For example here's my cfg (my subs are on channel 4 & 5 rather than 2&3):
96000 2 6 0

I attached my zip file. You can change my cfg as follows, if you want to try mine or your system. It won't sound right, but it should play. If Roon gives you an error with my file, your Roon settings are wrong. If it plays, your zip file has an error (hopefully just needs a name change).

Hello @aps. Hope this note finds you well.

I have been reading your posts in this forum with great interest.
At the moment, I have a 2.2 system and I use Dirac for correcting (the 2 subs are managed through a minidsp 2x4HD for level matching and Dirac is applied as 2.1). The system sounds good, Dirac does wonders for correcting modes in my very lively living room. I have been reading a lot and it seems that Audiolense could result in better sound (you also claim that Audiolense is best).
As you have compared Dirac with Audiolense, I wanted to ask you few questions:

1. Would you care to elaborate how is Audiolense better in your system?
2. Have you also tried Acourate? Why would you pick Audiolense instead of Acourate?
3. Any other solutions for sub integration you tried that were not satisfactory?
4. What hardware you use got channel routing?

many thanks for the help
