- Vanco's Evolution 4K HDMI Wireless Extender with HDMI Loop-Out (EV4KWHDMI) is a wireless HDMI product that delivers on its promises. Designed to transmit long distances and through obstructions, the Extender kit can transmit a 4K@60Hz with two channels of audio. Operation is simple, construction is robust, and buyers will find cable-like performance. Drawbacks include a lack of HDR and multi-channel support, yet this kit does so much right, it's easy to recommend.
On this edition of HDMI TEST BENCH, we take a 4K HDMI Wireless kit from Vanco for a full technical test drive. The all-new Evolution 4K HDMI Wireless Extender with HDMI Loop-Out has a ton to offer and is the first wireless extender we've tested that can replace an HDMI cable between a source and a TV or Projector.
The kit offers wireless transmission of video signals up to 4K 60 Hz resolution with two channels of audio over 164-feet line of sight. It's also marketed as capable of passing through walls and floors, claiming it offers the same coverage as Wi-Fi. In addition to wireless HDMI, it carries directional IR so a source can be controlled remotely at a display's location, it also features an HDMI loop-out, where an additional local display can be connected.
We used various tools to evaluate the Evolution 4K Wireless HDMI Extender, including Murideo's 8K Fox and Hound Test Kit and real-world tests and evaluations. What did we find? Well, we found a heap of good with a few caveats. If you're looking for a high-performance wireless HDMI kit, this is definitely a review worth watching.
