Hello I have recently acquired scarlett 4i4 sound card together with byerdynamic mm1 mic and I have not succeeded in connecting the I/O because I get error messages in REW. I max out the 48v phantom power and still don't get to the -12db level required. Can someone please explain, 1. how should I connect? 2. how should I choose the right settings.

If you are making a mic measurement you should expect input levels around -40 to -50 dBFS typically. If you are making a loopback calibration measurement, where the input is driven directly by the measurement output, it should be possible to get the levels to match pretty well. The help details the process.

I can't find info anywhere about the best sound card settings for scarlett 4i4 according to room eq wizard. Would greatly appreciate if someone could explain.

There seems to be some misunderstanding here. There is no “maxing out” phantom power. It’s either on, or it’s off, via the front-panel switch. Phantom power is basically what supplies power to the mic, the MMI in your case. If you’re doing a I/O loopback, phantom power should be turned off.

Without phantom power, you get a very weak signal.

Does anyone here own the scarlett 4i4 sound card and can post a picture of the sound card's settings?

I have this card. It should be connected through ASIO. I am not near my measurement computer but is you place a screen pic of your setup it will help. Make sure Pad isn't pressed. Try using the generator on pink noise and the spl meter to see that you get to +-75db.
