I have had quite a few ups and downs in the past 8 years. I wont bothger anyone with all that. But I have only now just looked at finishing up my 3way DIY JBL AM7315-95 clone I built. There is a passive tweeter and mid built from JBL spec. I am using a Beyma 15MI100 for the woofer. I coulnt afford at the time to buy the JBL. I was going to sell this three way a few weeks ago. While having others come over for a listening session I remember I had never finished this build. So I decided to keep it.
The tweeter and mid are passive and the bass is supposed to be active. I dont have the amps or active crossover setup to run active yet. So for now I am going to build a L-pad for the tweeter and mid. I have never built a L-pad before and asked for guidance on DiyAudio. A bit slow to get any answers so I wanted to start a thread here.
So far I am going to attenuate the T/M -15db. Then let Audyssey to its thing. As it is the bass is barely noticeable because of the TM sensitivity being so much higher than the 15.
According to the calculator I need a 1.73 resistors. I have found 1.8, 1.67 or 1.5 10 watt.
According to the calculator I need a 6.58ohm. I found 5.6 and 1.2 10 watt.
For the mid I looked at 50watt resistors. Not sure how chassis style resistors sound. Found a 5.6 and a 1ohm 50watt. Needed a 6.58 and 1.73 And only a 1.5 instead of a 1.73.
