(March 2, 2021) Calling all jazz fanatics, this one’s for you! A new short film created by Frank Rosgaard of Fade to Grey Films will capture your imagination and music sensibilities as it explores the creative and personal relationships shared by Steve Gadd, Michael Blicher, and Dan Hemmer of Blicher Hemmer Gadd.

Available to watch now, The Concert in Eddis Old Car Workshop is a 28-minute long follow up to the trio’s first film called The Making of Omara. In it, you’ll find behind-the-scenes footage captured before a pre-COVID show, laced with interviews that reveal insights into what makes the trio tick.

Blicher Hemmer Gadd has crafted three successful albums to date, with its second effort, Omara, nominated for a 2018 Danish Grammy as “Best Jazz Album of the Year.” Michael Blicher, a three-time Danish Grammy-winning saxophonist, himself, is credited with writing the trio’s music. And all three musicians have shared a tight bond for nearly a decade, forged by mutual respect and honed by live shows performed across multiple continents.

For those of you looking to support artists that value audiophile-grade recordings, Blicher Hemmer Gadd’s most recent album, Get That Motor Runnin’, might be of interest. Collaborating with Brinkmann Audio, the album was mastered using MQA and converted to analog with a Brinkman Audio Nyquist Mk II Streaming DAC. The MQA Master was directly fed from the DAC into the cutting machine, and a Brinkmann Audio Bardo direct-drive turntable was used for quality control. That same process was employed for last year’s re-release of its second album, Omara, on vinyl.

I'll have to Roon these guys for a listen. Best Jazz Album of the Year always gets my attention.

Yeah I'll definitely check it out too. Saw Gadd with Chick a couple years ago ... he's still got it even at 75+
