Error message UMIK-1 on Windows 10 64-bit

Hi,
Tried getting the REW to work with a UMIK-1, RTA is able to capture readings only once after the mic is connected every time. Once I stop the measurement and start over the below message appears. Preference menu also given below. Anything i am doing wrong

Sounds like the problem in this thread, fixed by disabling the driver for Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio.

Thanks Buddy... It helped and all is well now.

For this thread to be useful to others I am posting the solution again.

Background- This issue happens on laptops with Intel processors and have Windows 10 64 bit version installed.

Solution- A particular Intel driver has to be disabled to make the external mic to remain detectable by 3rd part applications.

Steps to be followed- Go to Device manager- System Devices- Intel Smart Sound technology OED(right click on this and Disable device)
