Here's my DESIGN FOR A SET OF TWIN 10IN PASSIVE RADIATOR CABINETS FOR THE Dayton Audio RSS265HO-44 COMPLETE WITH CAD DXF TEMPLATE FILES AND CONCEPT IMAGES

as some build thoughts

depending how big a box you are willing to build an how much your willing to spend an a twin ten inch passive rad the Dayton Audio RSS265-PR
in a 1cft box with the rads tuned at 12.5hz would be ideal

but the Crown XLS 1502 puts out to much power for that sub reguardless of ohm configertion ,box type or size .the drivers cone excursion will blow past the xmax limit right at 50hz

id either keep or return the 1502 an get an go with the xls 1002
this driver wired to 2ohm will get from the 1002 550watts that more the enough but safer

personaly as ive done with this driver i went with a 1cft box with twin Dayton Audio RSS265-PR rads tuned at 12.5hz in winisd at 15ft from seating you'll get 90dbs pf spl at 25hz the the drivers fq base limit

ive done this in a pair of custom towers an in my room ther 8ft from seating an i get 105db of spl thats good
big piece of advice dont buy a pre built or knockdown box as the pre built suck an the other to costly if your handy with a router build your own that will be better an cost less

if you want go to my google drop box iv got some cad bluprints for free you can download an use if you want MY GOOGLE DROPBOX LINK TO MY DESIGN FULL schematics

THIS CONTANS winisd template an Dayton Audio RSS265HO-44 wdr file from loudspeakerdatabase

along with concept pixs an .dxf cad files for making stencil router guilds from
the website sendcutsend they make good templates
my build that id suggest to you is what i did i build two very sturdy boxs from just two 4ft by 8ft by .75in panels of mdf one per box

each is 24in w by 12in t by 12 d box intuenal spec are 22in w by 11in t by
10.75 in d with intunal bracing ther called a layered cabinet each made from
sixteen .75in layers per mdf panel the total for both just shy of a 100 that includes a gallon of titebond 3 glue

I'd say that is one very seriously heavy box.

So are you going to build it? I'd love to follow your build and see how it turns out.

I don't think having too much power is an issue as long as you don't try to push the subs beyond their limits.

this was a dual use project concept my current plan is to use this as a big monitor surround but minus adding a tweeter it essentially becomes a sub only,

i did build this for my cousin as he wanted a pair of 10in an my setup is twin 15in ported

all i did was dust off my blu print for my new surrounds ,my post was primarly to suggest to a parts express customer about using this driver for a build

but i do have a pair of these for the mentioned surrounds

when ther built an finished ill post build pixs
