Hi!
A quick question.

I have two XTZ 12.17 Edge subwoofers and I have found two locations within my room where the my measurements are pretty smooth when I measure each subwoofer alone but when I measure them together the measurements goes bananas.

So. Am I on the right track here or should I find a location within my room where the subs perform smooth together?

Try adjusting your phase on one of the subs before trying to move them

Ideally you don't want them to be in opposite corners from each other or facing each other

Your phase could definitely be an issue. Tony's advice is on the money.

Ok. Thank you both! I’ll mix around and measure the different response i get with various phase settings on various cross over frequencies.

I have one more question. Do you advocate setting the speakers as small and let the subwoofers play the deepest LFE with a crossover at lets say 80Hz or do you set your front speakers (towers) to play double bass (LFE + main). I understand that it can be beneficial to have more bass sources in a room but it’s tricky to get it right.. Or??

What’s your opinion on this?

Me, personally? I set my mains to small and x-over at 80Hz for movies... and have a 2-channel mode for stereo listening that puts the mains on large.

By the way, very cool that you have some XTZ gear. I reviewed some of their speakers 3 or 4 years ago and was floored by their performance. They were simply amazing. I really regret having boxed them up and shipped them back! Looks like you have a really solid system!

Ok. I see! So are your subwoofers playing bass when in stereo mode (music listening) or are your front speakers the only source of bass in that mode?

Yeah! XTZ is a cool company and my understanding is that you really get competent stuff buying from them for very little money. I bought my subwoofers directly from them on location in that small village in the middle of nowhere in the woods of Sweden.. It’s not impossible that you are related with them with your sure name Anderson which is typically Swedish and having music in your blood

My problem is not my system. It’s my poor knowledge tweeting the things together and that I don’t have any acoustic treatment in my room. My wife won’t let me...!
