A friend explained that his wife wants him to get rid of his old system (floor-standing speakers and NAD amp), and replace it with small discrete speakers and play mainly Spotify. They are hoping for wireless speakers.
However he does have a nice turntable and collection of LPs, so I assume he will still want to have that connected as well.
His cost limit is $1000au (approx $700us).

My experience has been mainly 7.1 and home theatre, so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.:)

Have him look at the SVS Micro system... something similar to what Todd just reviewed.

Will do.
Thanks Sonnie. :T
Will have to find out if his turntable needs a pre-amp.

PS Thanks for moving the Post.

That’s a tough price point to satisfy. The SVS system I just reviewed would cost $1400.

If I were him, I’d look at options made by AudioEngine. Or, I’d look for an all-in-one streamer amp (like SVS’s SoundBase) or something from iFiAufio and pair it with some good bookshelf speakers (which you could get used or stretch the budget a little and buy new)

Thanks Todd.
I've realised I need some more information from him - still going to use T/table?; one listening room or several?
Also I'm not sure if the system is for dedicated listening, or just casual listening.
Waiting to hear back.

Yeah, sounds like some more info is needed
