DirecTV quietly made the switch from Sonic Tap to Music Choice a while ago and I've been giving it a chance ever since. Yeah, still leaves a lot to be desired.
Back when I had Dish Network and Sirius I took for granted that the music programming was pretty good with a lot of choice. Then the merger with XM came along and I really didn't notice much change. Couple years later I moved, no longer had the choice of Dish (well, still possible but...), it was DirecTV and Sonic Tap. Well, for as often as I used the service, it was okay. Not as good as Sirius XM but I could live with it. Then about 4 months ago DircTV quietly switched to Music Choice. I've given it 4 months but, it's just not my thing. Not sure how to explain it but it seems as though every channel/station plays the most "pop" music of it's genre.

Yeah, just complaining and a little frustrated, wondering if it's just me. I know I could throw in a CD or plug in the computer but I'm still paying for something I don't care for. Wouldn't be so bad if the Pandora app actually worked on DirecTV.

That's interesting... I would have assumed that the services all would have basically been similar. I wonder why Music Choice is more limited?

Me too but I don't think I'd say Music Choice is more limited, well, maybe a little. Don't see a channel for say Standards & Classics (Martin, Sinatra, Gershwin, Porter etc.) But I guess what bothers me more is the playlists. I just don't much care for the majority of the music they play no matter the channel Blues, Classic Rock, '70's, Jazz etc.

The only reason I've got DirecTV is to get unlimited data for the internet portion. Othewise, the only channel I use is 202 CNN.
