(May 30, 2025) Dirac has officially extended support for Dirac Live Room Correction to the Marantz MODEL M1 and Denon Home Amp, marking a notable step forward in making premium acoustic performance accessible to a broader audience.
The update, available now, allows both devices to run either the Limited Bandwidth or Full Bandwidth versions of Dirac Live, depending on how much correction you want and how deep your wallet runs. Pricing is in line with what we’ve seen before: $159 for Limited Bandwidth, and $249 for Full Bandwidth. That gets you access to Dirac’s patented algorithms, which correct both magnitude and phase response while smoothing out room-induced distortions. The goal? Tighter bass, improved clarity, and a more immersive soundstage—even in acoustically challenged spaces.
If those names sound familiar, it might be because Dirac Live was just announced as a forthcoming upgrade for the newly launched Marantz AV 20 and AMP 20 separates, with support for Dirac Live Bass Control and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) coming later this year. ART, in particular, uses Dirac’s MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology to intelligently coordinate every speaker in your system—taming low-frequency chaos across the room and opening the door to performance gains usually reserved for much more expensive gear.
That’s not to say the MODEL M1 or Denon Home Amp are playing in flagship territory. But with Dirac Live on board, they inherit some of the same room-optimizing DNA found in Marantz’s high-end gear. And for many users, that could mean a major leap in performance without a major upgrade in hardware.
In the words of Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s VP and Head of Business Development: “Dirac Live has long been trusted by audiophiles and integrators, and now we’re making that same premium smart acoustics solution available to more listeners worldwide through the popular Marantz and Denon streaming amps.”
Both the Marantz MODEL M1 and Denon Home Amp are compact, modern solutions with built-in streaming and solid amp sections—but let’s be honest, until now, they were missing that last layer of polish when it came to dealing with real-world room issues. With Dirac now in the mix, they’re positioned to punch well above their weight class—at least sonically.
If you already own one of these units, you can purchase a license today and run measurements using a calibrated microphone. Your ears will thank you.
