(September 15, 2025) Our CEDIA Expo 2025 coverage kicked off with a chance to sit down with Anders Storm, CEO of Dirac, who just celebrated his first year at the helm of the Swedish audio innovator. Storm’s career spans mobile technology and semiconductors, but he’s very much a software guy at heart, which makes him a natural fit for Dirac’s mix of DSP engineering and software-driven sound solutions.

Home theater fans know Dirac for its room correction technology, particularly Dirac Live and Active Room Treatment, but that’s only part of the story. As Storm explained, roughly seventy percent of the company’s business is tied to automotive audio, where audiophile-level processing is helping car makers shape immersive listening experiences. That cross-pollination of ideas is fueling Dirac’s growth across multiple industries, from laptops to earphones, with home theater continuing to play a core role.

At the show, Dirac is celebrating a big step forward for ART. Until now, it’s been a StormAudio exclusive, but that’s changing with new partnerships. AudioControl, through AVPro, is preparing its Hyperion Series to launch with ART, and Marantz is nearly ready to officially launch as well. According to Storm, ART is mature and ready to scale, which opens the door to wider availability and, eventually, products at lower price points.

Storm is quick to acknowledge that Dirac still has work to do when it comes to ease of use. He sees opportunities for AI and smarter interfaces to streamline setup for everyday users while maintaining flexibility for enthusiasts who want to delve deeper. At home, he's tested Dirac's solutions on his own Marantz/Bowers & Wilkins system, giving him a firsthand perspective on what works and what can be improved.

It’s an exciting time for Dirac, and Storm is just getting started. With ART expanding into new products and a vision to simplify and make calibration more accessible, the company is positioning itself to influence how we all experience sound, whether in cars, laptops, or full-blown home theaters.
