It's Denon's 110th Anniversary Limited Edition SACD player/network streamer!

And... we're playing our favorite vinyl, SACD's and streaming Tidal MQA!

SACD but only stereo analog output? The PCM1795 is a good DAC but getting long in the tooth. Also, I did not read any sort of network/streaming capability in the spec sheet?

Very glad to see another SACD player on the market, however!

Denon's DCD-A110 SACD player is also a Smart Network streaming device. It's has HEOS built-in and the HEOS app is excellent.

The DCD-A110 also has Digital Optical and Digital Coax outputs.

Sorry to ask a silly question, remember I'm the video guy, but are some SACD's muti-channel?

This is not the thread for me to ask, but I'd love you list of best mastered multi-channel SACD's for my collection and store demo. I'd love to use Marantz's new 30N and Denon's 110th Anniversary SACD player to demonstrate multi channel SACD's in our a/v showroom

What Kal said. The biggest benefit of SACDs is that they provide multichannel audio recordings. CDs are fine for stereo. I am surprised a new "limited edition", presumably top-shelf, SACD player does not have multichannel analog outputs and only S/PDIF outputs (unless the coax is AES)? I would have expected multichannel analog outputs with standard S/PDF, AES, and HDMI outputs to provide multichannel digital outputs as well.

Kal's list is published in Stereophile, natch, but the thing about Kal you have to watch is he has some great SACDs that are no longer available, durn him! If I ever get to the east coast again I've threatened to check out his collection.

Agreed ^ and thank you! What I always understood is that SACDs are not as compressed as CDs in the digitalization process and therefore have higher bit-rate and in many cases a larger dynamic tonal range.

I do but I've missed the boat on more than a few.

Bring a flashlight. I keep them in big plastic storage boxes in the basement after ripping them to files.

Perfect, he'll never miss a few choice picks smuggled out... Wait did I type that out loud? :)

Hmmm... Probably not the topic for a technical description. SACDs use 1-bit DSD and can achieve greater dynamic range and higher frequency response than CDs (which use PCM at a lower rate and equivalent bit depth or resolution). In practice there's not much difference. What has proven true in my experience (Kal knows much more) is that SACDs seem to be mastered better than many CDs so they take better advantage of the format. A well-mixed and mastered CD is astounding, but there are too few of them, and too many CDs have been "remastered" with higher compression that sucks the life out of them. (Search "loudness wars".)

I'll never miss them unless RIAA starts suing disc rippers and I need to prove ownership... Wait did I type that out loud? :)

Are you guys discussing illegal disc ripping here in the forum... smuggling and stealing?

Now you've flagged the powers at large... they'll be coming for sure.

Love Denon's new DCD-A110 110th Anniversary Limited Edition SACD Player/Network streamer. We've compared it to Marantz's Model 30n, Technics SL-G700, Marantz's SA-KI Ruby SACD Payer, and Marantz SA1.

I have all of these premium SACD players connected to different amplifiers and speakers so unfortunately I have not compared Denon's DCD-A110 with other SACD player with the same speakers and amplifier.
