I could use some feedback from you more experienced audio set up guys for my family room setup for movie watching and music listening. Can you take a look at the attached REW sweeps and give me your thoughts? One sweep is with DEQ enabled and the crossovers set at 80Hz and the other is with DEQ turned off and the crossovers set at 120 Hz. I have read that 80 Hz is the recommended starting place for setting crossovers but the graph looks better to me with it set at 120 Hz. I still have the same bad room induced null from around 30-45 Hz but it looks to me like the 120 Hz crossover improved the drop off starting around 50 Hz compared to when the crossover is set to 80 Hz. The two graph pics are without scaling and with 1/6th scaling for reference. If you guys agree that the 120 Hz sweep looks better, can you also tell me if there is any downside to using that crossover vs. the more standard 80 Hz?
