Hi all! Trying to help my friend spice up his small Thai restaurant, no pun intended. Haa. He wants to get a couple TVs and display movies and live sports. I told him he needs an hdmi matrix switcher. Showed him various options https://bzbexpress.com/switchers/hdmi-switch/ and some on the cheaper end from Amazon. Not sure why, but Amazon has a lot that are really cheap--as low as $20! First, is an hdmi switch what he actually needs? If so, can I tell him to just go with one on Amazon? Or, with these switchers, you get what you pay for? He has a Blu-ray player, an Xfinity cable box, and wants to get two TVs. Thanks guys!

The problem with HDMI switches if they are cheap ones is they do not usually support longer HDMI cable runs and you will run into dropouts and handshake issues. How far away are the TVs from the source?

Simple to just rent another box from Comcast. Then each TV will have it's own remote.

My experience echoes Tony's advice, I had such headaches with handshakes and consistency that I threw the 3 or 4 units I was experimenting with all into a box and haven't looked at them since.
