Ole Miss is going to be the team to beat in my opinion. Lane could be the first Sabonite to beat him... they look brutal offensively and defensively at this point.

Auburn is looking pretty good as well.

I'm feeling a couple of losses this year... unfortunately.

Bama was CRUSHING the gators in that first quarter... I stopped watching. Looks like I missed a great ending. Huge win for the Crimson Tide, plucking one out of that stadium was impressive!

The Penn State/Auburn game last night was awesome... Happy Valley was on fire. That stadium was electric!

Auburn's coach gets an F- for his 4th down play call at the goal line. You'd like to see some misdirection used... he when for a fade to the corner and the receiver got snuffed out before he could get 5 yards off the line. #FAIL

Terps play Kent St next week, then have Iowa coming to Maryland Stadium for an 8pm Saturday night showdown. Doesn't get any easier after that as they go to Ohio State, Minnesota, and then play Mich. State, Penn State, and Michigan.

It could get seriously ugly during that stretch OR they could end up wrecking someone's party. I'm guessing it will be some of both.

Agree on the Auburn call... that didn't make any sense whatsoever, unless they were hoping to get a interference call, which is probably just a silly thought by me... :sarcastic: Either way, Sean Clifford going 28/32 passing was impressive. Bo Nix was not as accurate as I thought he would be, but perhaps a little better than last year. Auburn could still end up being a really good team and wrecking some good teams down the road. :whistling:

Go Terps! I'm excited for Locksley and Taulia Tagovailoa... being they both came from Bama. After seeing West Virginia beat Virginia Tech yesterday, that win for the Terps over WVU is looking like it really was a big win for them. They could very well wreck some good teams as the season progresses. I'm following them pretty close... hoping for the best.

Question: how many games do you guys watch on a typical Saturday. I’m truly curious. Like, I’m obviously an Iowa State fan. I watch our game, and will generally have another game on as background noise before or after our game, depending on our time slot. And I’ll sometimes watch a highlight reel of the day, and if I see a lot of chatter on social media I might flip a game on for awhile.
I think my interest has dwindled in recent years. I still love college football (NFL bores me to tears these days), but there are just too many other things I enjoy more than watching a bunch of games I’m not attached to. And don’t even get me started on flipping between multiple games…

This is Locksley's third time at Maryland. He was here as an assistant and I believe he served as an interim head coach for a few games at one point. He, apparently, has strong recruiting ties in the region. Funny thing is, he was never a guy that was discussed as some sort of football genius. I was shocked when he went to Bama (he was an offensive coordinator, correct?).

When he came to MD a few years back, I think everyone assumed the team was bound to be mediocre (and they still might be!). Looks like quite a few people might be pleasantly surprised. That Taulia kid looks pretty good... and that's a good thing because QB has been a wasteland of nothing for years and years and years at MD.

I rarely watch more than one game. Yesterday was unique... caught some of the Bama game while I was in the gym. And then happened to be home last night and the Penn State game caught my eye... I love those big games and Happy Valley was rockin' with a White Out crowd.

If I don't have anything pressing to do outside, such as cutting grass, which I try to do early, I'm on it all day until my eyes get sleepy. Provided there are worthy games to watch. If all that is on are blowouts, I'll give it up for something else, or until a game comes on that's fun to watch. Naturally I'm typically favoring watching an SEC team, but I also like good games like the UCLA vs Fresno State game last night, and the Cincinnati vs Indiana game, West Virginia (coach is the former Troy University coach in Troy, AL) vs Virginia Tech. I'm flipping it around a good bit unless Bama is playing... and if they are smacking a team around pretty well and another good game is on I'll flip it back and forth.

I like NFL to an extent. I usually only watch during the playoffs and the occasional game here and there. Now that Bama has 3 quarterbacks, Tua, Mac and Jalen, all starting, I like watching those teams. I think Mac Jones will be another Tom Brady for the Patriots... he is a smoking hot QB.

This is Locksley's third time at Maryland. He was here as an assistant and I believe he served as an interim head coach for a few games at one point. He, apparently, has strong recruiting ties in the region. Funny thing is, he was never a guy that was discussed as some sort of football genius. Yes, Locksley was the OC at Bama. He was an analyst when he started at Bama, then he was co-OC and receivers coach before becoming the main OC. I have no idea what Saban saw in him, as it couldn't have much been based on his past records, which I don't think were very impressive. But he did a good job an Bama.

While TV stays on all day there’s usually only a couple of games I’ll really want to pay attention to for one reason or another. And even when they’re on there’s usually some other chores or work going on at the same time. If a game is really competitive it’ll get more attention. On a regular workday I’m always multitasking so really not out of the ordinary. Some I’ll DVR and watch early Sunday. SEC championship, playoffs, and some really meaningful games I’ll plan to set aside time to watch.

I don’t pay much attention to any pro sports. I much prefer the college game. Like @Sonnie I’ll watch a couple just to see how a player just out of school is doing. This year I am kind of interested in Jacksonville. More because Tebow is involved with the team rather than Trevor winding up there. As long as it continues to not interfere much with his Saturday TV work anyway. Hard not to appreciate his enthusiasm and knowledge. Even as a Bama fan who rooted against him every time. Those were some great games too.

I was a huge fan of Cam Newton the first few years he was a QB... up until he started getting mouthy, as well as DeShaun Watson, and a few others, so I also like to keep up with some of the guys that don't play with Bama, despite them may have been ones to beat us.

I am going to make a prediction... Ole Miss wins the National Championship this year, but I'm not sure who they'll play for the title. I believe they go undefeated this year, and Kiffin gives Saban his first loss to a Sabanite coach. My guess is they'll play the winner of the Georgia vs Florida game in the SEC Championship game, then play Oregon or maybe Iowa in the championship game. I think Oklahoma will lose a game, as will Penn State. Not sure about Cincinnati... they might be the first Group of 5 team to make the playoffs. Coral will win the Heisman.

So there you go... I believe it's Ole Miss all the way this year. HOWEVER... I would be most happy if Bama could spoil that for them.

Anyone else have any predictions?

That’s not a rat. That’s Iowa State’s football team this year. One more year of building up huge expectations only to stumble out of the gate, we will see if they recover this year or fold.

You could always jump on the Iowa bandwagon... they are 4-0 and looking pretty good. :whistling:

Serious football today... could be a record breaking day. :whistling:

My wife is mad at me for even suggesting that Bama is likely to lose today.

It doesn't make me any less of a Bama fan to be realistic... IMO.

Very interested in seeing what Cincinnati can do with the Irish... and the Hogs vs the Dawgs should be a good one too.

Man... the Terps couldn't do anything right last night... unbelievable early in that game. After the 3rd interception I gave up... took a peak a few minutes later and noticed a 4th interception. I think Tag mighta been color blind.

I’m confused. What is this “football” of which you speak? Is that an STD?

Uh-ho. Wait till she finds out you follow Chris Doering on Twitter.
That would be a no go... as I don't even have a Tweeter account.

What do you mean... Iowa beat the snot out of the Terps last night. You should be happy.

I really though the Hogs would have come to play ball, but I guess not.

Oh well... guess I was wr.... ehhhh ... I was wro..... oh boy my wife is beating me up...

I was definitely wrong! Can't say that too loud and in blatant public... she might see it.

Perhaps it will be Kirby to be the first coach to beat Saban... them Dawgs look awesome!

The Irish and the Duck fall... wow!

No doubt Georgia is for real.

No doubt Georgia is for real.

Unfortunately.

Very easily could have gone the other way. I think now Georgia would be the easier opponent if Bama makes it to the SEC Championship. Florida knows they can win it.

Silly, foolish, me.

This is what makes the college game so good. You just never know. Nothing can be taken for granted.
