Seems like the logical choice. They only beat 1 ranked team during the season. Other than Clemson, of course.
OSU only played 6 games but they included wins over 2 ranked teams. #11 and #14
I was hoping you'd go with Clemson and get Alabama off the hook!!

In the interest of full disclosure, Cincinnati had a win over 1 ranked team, Tulsa at #24 and just squeaked by. Still going with an undefeated season is worth something. If they have a win against Georgia you, Todd and I will look pretty smart. If they lose our football cred will plummet. (Well, yours and Todd's will. I don't have any to begin with.)

My thinking is Cincinnati is the most deserving team simply because they are undefeated. However, I doubt they would be able to play with the likes of Clemson or Bama. I don't think they can hang with Georgia if Georgia comes to play ball like they should, and now that they've found their QB. Does that get me off the hook now?

The team I personally think would give all of us a good game right now... and my choice for being ranked 4th would be Oklahoma. They have really come around after a very rocky start.

ND should be out. They beat Clemson minus their star QB. Then, lost to Clemson.

Perhaps Cinci cant hang with other top 4 teams on paper... but they deserve a chance to try. You never know what can happen.

Ultimately, my issue comes down to what these teams play for during the regular season. Felt the same way about UCF in the past several years. Seems crazy to shut the door on a team that’s gone undefeated

Allowing these schools like Cincinnati and UCF to participate in the playoffs, even if they might lose, would at least help them with recruiting and heading in the direction of being able to compete in future years. If either of these teams had been in the final 4, there is no doubt they would have landed some better recruits. I can very well imagine a player thinking to himself... "I'm gonna have to compete with too many top quality players at Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State or Bama... but I can got to UCF and I'll be playing my first year... I'll be a star fast with much less competition."

We really need the 8 team playoff... or more. Think about it... Bama would be playing Cincinnati... Clemson would be playing Florida... Ohio State vs Oklahoma... ND vs Texas A&M. Now who in their college football right mind would NOT want to see these games. These would be sooooo much better match ups than what we are about to have with only the top 4.

You could even stretch it on out to let the number 5 thru 12 play each other and give the top 4 a bye the first week. Then we'd have Texas A&M vs Coastal Carolina (winner vs ND), Oklahoma vs Indiana (winner vs OSU), Florida vs Iowa State (winner vs Clemson), and Cincinnati vs Georgia (winner vs Bama). Again... great games... and now recruits are going to spread out more ... make college football much more competitive

I'm a huge Bama fan, but even I'm getting tired of seeing the same old teams playing it out each year. I was actually relieved we didn't get in last year.

So it seems the Florida vs Oklahoma game won't be much of a match since Florida has their top 4 wide receivers opting out, and top defensive backs either opting out or with COVID. Bummer... I was really hoping to see another crazy high-scoring game.

And there was Kyle Pitts on the sideline during the LSU loss whining ‘cause Mullen wouldn’t let him play. But now they can’t play for the national championship so it’s quittin’ time. Sheesh.

I have to believe Clemson will be too much for OSU ... and I am afraid they'll even out-gun Bama in the big dance. That is anticipating Bama getting by ND, which they should, although I suppose you can't ever tell, which is why they "play the game". I think Bama has the weakest defense of the two.

I may have to eat crow here... as OSU is definitely playing better ball than I was expecting. I just didn't think they had it after watching them play Indiana and Northwestern so close.

I have no bias towards the SEC. We did have better records for our top 3-4 teams this year than we did last year. The SEC took a significant hit last year compared to previous years. As of right now, we still have 4 teams in the top 11 of the AP poll.

Keep in mind, Clemson is ACC and I thought they were the best team in the nation this year. OSU simply hadn't played enough games for me to figure them out, and after Indiana played them close... and they could do anything against Northwestern, it surprised me in a big way that they were able to do what they did to Clemson. Sure... Northwestern beat an SEC team... but it was a coachless and beat up Auburn team.

The championship game should be a good one. It worries me that the Vegas spread started at -7 for Bama and has already moved to -7.5... meaning more bets on Bama. When OSU is an underdog they are VERY dangerous.
