New technologies are combining connectivity, and data with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to elevate consumer experiences and offer new levels of functionality in the smart home. Due to tech advances , consumers are embracing smart home technology with an abundance of connected devises at home. More major companies have integrated smart technology into their products. Whether a thermostat that connect to your phone, a fridge that has a screen connected to the internet or smart light bulbs and doorbells. Many of these are driven by sensors. Homes are more interacting with smartphone and smart speakers. So consumers are enjoying more convenience and comfort, from basic security monitoring to more customized access to climate control, appliances, lighting, windows covering, and entertainment. And robotics with applications that help with task around the house, such as vacuuming, cleaning floors or windows, and mowing lawns.

Global consumer market projections for household robotics will increase to an estimated $12.6 billion in 2025 from $ 5.1 billion now.

Advances in technology to help humans become better are great but I also fear that it may hurt humans as well by making them lazy and unproductive.

I think kids especially will lack the motivation to work hard since they will grow up in a society where everything is simple and done without much effort.

Example: Growing up, we didn't have GPS, we had at best a folded map or keymap. We had to use our head to read the map, look for signs, read the road, etc. Now, with GPS, navigation is easy to navigate but for those who only relied on GPS, they are lost if their GPS is not working or is malfunctioning...

Example2: At the grocery store, kids don't even know how to give change if their cash machines are not working. Seriously, can't even do basic math.. They rely way too much on technology to fix everything..

Indeed, however technology is marching on … Can't go back, so we better learn how to cope with it, and use it in the right way. :)

Technology is about changing people’s lives for the better. It’s about ideas, large and small, that keep us connected, that help us move, that spark even bigger ideas.

I agree 100% that technology for what it is worth, it is for the betterment of society but it does come with a price that is all. :)

Everything has positive and negative effects.
