Catching up with Displace's Founder and CEO at CES 2023, Talking All Things Wireless TV!

(January 12, 2023) Displace used CES 2023 to launch the World's first 100% wireless 4K TV. Using a 55" LG Display OLED panel, Displace TVs stick to any flat surface using a proprietary suction system, are light enough to easily move around, and have a hot-swappable battery system that affords up to 30 days of use.

We caught up with Displace's Founder and CEO at CES to get the scoop!

This is really fascinating to see where our TVs are headed beyond just resolution and color specs. Thanks for the video!!

Super cool technology. The samples they had at the show were convincing, though they had a bit of trouble getting one to re-mount to a demo surface. I didn't stick around (no pun) to see how it was resolved, but I'm sure they got it working again.

The CEO is an affable guy that, I think, has a great idea in this product. One thing I wish we'd talked about is portability outside of the home. I'm assuming you could take the TV to, say, a tailgate and stream video to it from a phone. But not entirely sure...

I might have missed the detail in the video but do the TVs auto-mosaic when put next each other? or do you need a remote/external device to set that up?

It’s all done through hand-gestures. So, you can have each TV run separately, if you can gesture for one TV to spread what it’s showing to all 4 displays.

Alternatively, you can gesture for a TV to “carry” what you’re watching from one display to another display in a different room.

$3K is high for this tv. Guess we have to wait for black friday sales. :)

Well, you’re paying for a TV, a flexible self regulating mounting system, and the wireless equipment. Might not be that over-priced.

I’d love to see this in a 65” format!

I really think the smaller sizes mentioned in the interview are where they might do well. The ability to have a screen where you couldn’t put one before. Easily portable.
BTW, and I may have missed it, is airplay and/or chromecast in the feature set?

I think you’d have to add Apple TV, etc to the streaming hub. It doesn’t appear to be integrated directly in the set.
