(April 8, 2026) Cambridge Audio is revisiting one of its most recognizable speaker concepts, but this isn’t a simple rebrand. The new MSX range takes the foundation of the long-running Minx lineup and reshapes it for how many people experience audio: in shared spaces, smaller rooms, and environments where performance matters just as much as appearance.

Cambridge was keen to endow MSX with factors that made Minx so appealing in the first place. Small cabinets, wide dispersion, and a sound that the company describes as bigger than the enclosures suggest. The lineup is built around two satellite models, the MSX10 and MSX20, and two compact subwoofers, the MSX Sub 200 and Sub 300. Together, they form a flexible system that can adapt to different spaces and listening styles, whether that’s casual music playback or a more immersive home theater setup.

At the core of the satellites is Cambridge’s Balanced Mode Radiator technology. BMR drivers operate differently from traditional speaker designs, combining conventional piston motion with a more flexible diaphragm for bending-wave dispersion. The result is meant to be a wider, more even soundfield that doesn’t rely on a single listening position. In practical terms, it means the system maintains balance and clarity when you’re off-axis, something that becomes increasingly important in open-plan living spaces.

The MSX10 uses a fourth-generation version of that BMR driver, refined for improved efficiency and smoother integration across the frequency range. Stepping up, the MSX20 builds on that same platform by adding a dedicated woofer, which brings more weight and dynamic range to the presentation, making it a better fit for larger rooms or listeners who want a bit more scale from their system.

Low-end performance is handled by the Sub 200 and 300, both crafted to deliver controlled bass without overwhelming the space they occupy. Each uses a forward-firing driver, combined with auxiliary bass radiators and DSP, to maintain accuracy and composure as output increases. The Sub 200 pairs a 6.5" driver with a 200-watt amplifier, while the Sub 300 moves to an 8" driver and 300 watts for greater impact and extension.

There’s also a clear emphasis on integration into the home. The new matte black and matte white finishes lend to seamless integration with modern interiors, whether the speakers are placed on shelves or mounted to walls. Standard binding posts support 4mm banana plugs, keeping connectivity straightforward and avoiding proprietary solutions. Optional mounts and stands add flexibility for placement without complicating setup.

The Cambridge Audio MSX range will be available starting April 2026 through Cambridge Audio and authorized retailers, with pricing set at $99 each for the MSX10, $129 each for the MSX20, $399 for the MSX Sub 200, and $499 for the MSX Sub 300.
