(June 27, 2025) Cambridge Audio has taken the wraps off its newest wireless earbuds, the Melomania A100—a true wireless model that brings the company’s signature hi-fi sensibilities to a more portable, everyday format. The A100 is now available in select markets, with a U.S. release expected later this year.
While true wireless earbuds are a crowded category, the Melomania A100 looks to stand out by taking some of the same design cues found in Cambridge’s home hi-fi lineup—most notably, its use of Class AB amplification. According to the company, it draws this power preference from its CX and EX Series amplifiers, with the goal of reproducing music with greater warmth, detail, and dynamic clarity.
To harness that power and turn it into sound, each bud features a custom 10mm neodymium driver, driven by a dual-core 240MHz Qualcomm Kalimba DSP.
Also new is a proprietary DSP feature Cambridge calls DynamEQ, which subtly adjusts frequency balance at lower volumes to maintain a fuller, more natural sound across bass and treble regions. Combined with support for lossless Bluetooth codecs including LDAC, aptX Lossless, and aptX Adaptive, the A100 aims to give serious music fans a listening experience that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Active noise cancellation is also onboard, using a hybrid feedforward/feedback system with six onboard microphones. For users who prefer to stay aware of their surroundings, a transparency mode is available.
Battery life is rated at up to 11 hours per charge with ANC disabled (6.5 hours with ANC on), and the ultra-compact charging case adds up to 28 additional hours. Fast charging support means users can get up to 3 hours of listening time from just a 10-minute top-off.
Cambridge says comfort and personalization were key design goals. The earbuds are IPX5 rated, lightweight, and ship with multiple silicone tip sizes to ensure a secure seal. Users can tailor touch controls and adjust sound via the updated Melomania Connect app, which includes a full 7-band EQ with six genre-based presets and the ability to create custom profiles.
Multipoint Bluetooth 5.4 support allows users to connect two devices simultaneously, while the onboard mic array is optimized for clear voice pickup—something that should appeal to remote workers and commuters alike.
The Melomania A100 arrives alongside a wave of refreshed branding for Cambridge, including the Evo 150 SE integrated amplifier and revamped versions of its StreamMagic and Melomania apps.
Melomania A100 is available now at $149.99 (£119/€139) in Europe and Asia, with a U.S. rollout expected later in 2025.
