Okay... so no I am not going soft on my thoughts about all the snake oil out there... and no I am not even close to being convinced these will make a difference in the sound of my system. However, I do think they have a little bit of cool factor to them... yet, I ain't paying 20 bucks a piece for the porcelain version of them, which is what I see them for at Music Direct. Does anyone know where I can get these on the cheap? I call myself looking around for some, but nothing thus far is jumping out at me.

I recall seeing someone getting old electrical porcelain pieces... I think you can get them off of eBay. Why not just make some out of wood? You could just make some "x"s. Actually I have something that would look pretty trick if I cut them in half... I have some aluminum collars that have a 3/4" center. If they were cut in half they could be attached like this )( or they could be attached to a nice piece of wood or something else. They were like $3 each, and they are available as a full split collar which means they would not have to be cut in half, and you can get them in different sizes too.

I was thinking about wood, but I like the porcelain look better. Too lazy to finish them myself.

You might want to call your local electricity provider. they may have a whole bunch kicking around.

Chopsticks, teepee every 3 ft.

Now that's an idea.

Cable lifters can make a big difference in the amount of PE (Phoenix Effect) distortion you end up with. Wood will give you a dielectric constant that is very similar to that which you would find in nature, yielding a more musical sound. Definitely go with wood.

Wow, did I say hat out loud? For the record, I DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD OF WHAT I JUST TYPED ABOVE. Hopefully Sonnie, and others here at AV NIRVANA, know me well enough that I was pulling Sonnie's chain, having a little fun with the topic.:dizzy:

If you want to do it for fun, or for looks, be my guest.

I thought for a minute there... well... I won't say what I thought. It wasn't really bad.

Here you go gents, different colors sound different, blue for those long lonely nights, red for the nights with cables by the fireplace and yellow for those blind dates with cables you aren't sure of. Mix and match, low to the ground or higher, your choice, $15.99 but wait for one dollar more you can get...well never mind no one would believe me.

Oh boy... vibrant colors too! :woohoo:

You could just use ice cubes and it's not perminant if you don't like it

To be fair, I do believe that there is a benefit in simple cable organization. Expensive elevators or isolators I do not believe in.

I still say you should go to your local senior center on pottery day. Talk to the person in charge of the class & have her build a mold. I bet the local folks would be all over making & glazing them.

Custom AV NIRVANA cable isolators!

How many of you guys would buy a set?

You guys are making it too complicated... surely someone out there is selling something inexpensive that is ready to go. I can't get bogged down in having to finish something like this... or try to work with anyone to build what I want. Just a good ole fashion buy them finished is what I am really looking for. Wood is fine if they look neat enough, but I do prefer the porcelain finished models, just not 20 bucks each worth.

They have the porcelain insulators that look just like the ones you want on Ebay... they are under $10, and if you check a local flea market I bet you can get them for a couple of bucks each.

Only 1 available on each... need about 6.

Well... that's where I first saw them at $20 each... they just put them on sale for me didn't they.

We might as well see about getting setup as a dealer for these. I think they are neat and make things neater as well.

They do look pretty cool! If you can be a dealer, does that mean they can put the AV NIRVANA logo on them?
