Crossing the streams between eras this afternoon. Was digging for an extra IR receiver and found the power supply for my old portable MiniDisc recorder. Thought I'd see how ATRAC compression sounds through some vacuum tubes.

And yes. I'm listening to Stroke 9, because I am.

Wow! That really brings back some great memories! My Sony MiniDisc player was used almost daily from 2007-08...just a little while.
What year is your recorder?

I searched far and wide around my house to show a pic but all I could find was an unused disc : P
If it ever pops up again I'll post it!

I have no idea what year that’s from. Probably ‘98 or ‘99?

I had home decks, a portable player, this portable recorder, and even an in-dash player in my old Isuzu Rodeo. Loved that format.

Currently digging through the house looking for a specific box of discs that were full of song ideas from an old band. Half-done demos.

I have been crossing the streams for a few years now... Digital -> Analogue with a tubed preamp... Have you tried any other streaming sources to your Jolida? And any tube rolling?

Did you keep that Bluesound Node 2i you reviewed?

The Jolida is used primarily for the Bluesound Node2i and my turntable via a Cambridge 651p phono stage.

I’ve not done any rolling yet. I’ll likely be looking at that post-work from home era, as I’m putting a LOT of hours on these while here all day, and all evening.
