(April 11, 2019) Lenbrook International has issued several major announcements about its BluOS Hi-Res music platform, in addition to updates to its new NAD Masters M10 BluOS Streaming Amplifier.

According to Lenbrook, a forthcoming BluOS app update (due around April 16th) allows Qobuz users to quickly identify Hi-Res tracks with a new "HR" icon. The update also will streamline compatibility with Roon’s new 1.6 release while providing access to three new Radio Paradise stations (Mellow Mix, Rock Mix, and Groovy Mix) featuring lossless CD streams. Users of Radio Paradise will also find that “liking” 100 songs in any Radio Paradise station will instantly create a new custom station dubbed “my favorites.” Nugs.net is also entering the picture, providing BluOS users with the ability to stream or download some 30,000 hours of live concert records, including recordings in lossless formats.

Other notable BluOS tweaks include the ability to rename used inputs while hiding unused inputs for a simplified user interface. Also, Bluesound users will now enjoy better overall Bluetooth pairing stability.

Owners of the all-new M10 BluOS Streaming Amplifier are gaining the ability to pair Bluetooth devices with NFC, along with Dirac Live functionality and in-app room correction controls. This base-level Dirac Live package gives users the ability to compensate for room characteristics up to 500Hz – those looking for correction above 500Hz can upgrade to Dirac Live Full.

Additionally, NAD AV Receivers using the AM230 and AM117 MDC Modules are bringing a second immersive sound codec onboard, as the BluOS 3.4 update delivers full DTS:X support. Owners of non-BluOS enabled receivers with AM230 and AM117 MDC Modules can also gain DTS:X functionality but must visit a dealer or download a do-it-yourself kit from NADelectronics.com.

You can experience all of these new features and upgrades at AXPONA 2019. Simply visit Holm Audio (Suite 726) or Saturday Audio Exchange (Suite 306) for pre-launch demos of BluOS 3.4 and various NAD Electronics and Bluesound products. Also, NAD is hosting a Master Class Theater (Main Expo Hall, Saturday April 14) where Jakob Ågren (Head of Product, Dirac Performance Audio Business Unit) will speak. And here’s a little hook: Lenbrook says the above AXPONA rooms will offer “various show promotions.”

I will be taking advantage of this update on my NAD T758 v3 to enable DTS:X processing. Thankfully I haven't gotten to a DTS:X movie yet on my watchlist, but hey at least I'll finally be able to play with the DTS:X demo disc I won a couple months ago around these parts :T

Ah... yes you will!!! Enjoy! :T
