im in the process of redoing some of my theater and I already had insulation inside my main riser for the rear seating and now have built a small riser at the front under the screen where my speakers will sit. My question is do I leave the gaps open and just cover them up with cloth or is this a useless thing to do as far as a trap?

I'm recarpeting the room today so I will either carpet over the gap or put cloth over it.

Cloth will let more high frequencies in... but, wow, that's a super small sliver there. Not sure it would make much of a difference. I'd probably just carpet.

My riser is much larger and so is the gap so I will put cloth over that and if I have cloth left over I will use it on the front, it won't hurt.
Theater seating arrives tomorrow :)

Ya, I've wanted new seating for years. I want to drywall the ceiling and put Atmos speakers in but that will have to wait till the spring.
My new Onkyo RZ920 is arriving next week. I'm really qurious about the D3 digital amplification it employes
