I have an issue with REW on my laptop. It seems, when I try to use the inbuilt sound card with the signal generator, I get a wierd, noisy signal. However, when I try it with an USB soundcard, I get a normal one. On my desktop PC it works correctly, but not with my laptop. I have tried every single configurations to fix it, but nothing changed. The sound sounds faltering and fluctuate. This is visible on scope as well. When I'm playing a song with any kind of application, I get a perfect sound out of the sound card. I have tried different versions.
Check the sample rate and bit depth of the internal soundcard in the audio Properties, Advanced tab. Make sure the sample rate is that same as the rate you have selected in REW and the bit depth is at least 16 bit.

Obviously I started the investigation with this. But, it is very funny that it works with my desktop with any kind of configuration, works with a USB sond card. However, works badly with my laptop internal sound card and does not work at all with my NumarkParty Mix controller.
Yes, it is strange indeed. But, I have the latest drivers, latest Windows 10. Soundcard Scope program produces sound perfectly. Music played perfectly. I suspect of the JAVA.
Definietely it must be something with the JAVA and with soundcard driver issue. -4dBFS and 0dBFS gave me the same level on the output. However, after a while, it's back normal.
Wierd.
Today I updated REW to REW V5,20 Beta 6 with JRE 1.8.0_192 64bit. It was required to install other Java. Now, it works normally. Thanks! I like this software.
