Does the auto eq factor in Group Delay and Minimum Phase to avoid EQing undesirable places to EQ.

I wasn’t sure if I should be making excess phase copies and eq’ing those. Also, looks like OCA does excess phase copies and then does cross correlation alignment and vector averages to get what to EQ.

Is that necessary or does auto eq factor that in? Or perhaps that’s just recommended for averaging mutliple measurements before auto-EQing?

No, he doesn't use that for EQ. The excess phase response has flat magnitude, there's nothing in it to EQ.

Is group delay and minimum phase areas of the measurement something that I should manually correct to avoid or is that wasted effort?

Manually correct what and how? Sounds like wasted effort to me.
