Happy new year all.
I am trying to find out if Audiolense can deliver results like Trinnov & Waveforming at a fraction of that cost.
In the final setup, this should become a 9.8.6. Setup, with the subs configured as a DBA. For Convolution, I am using Mitch's Hang Loose DSP Suite + Blackhole16 on a Mac Mini.
The caveat is that in order to use external devices such as Apple TV and anUHD Player, I can't have a purely PC based setup (at least not without a capture card). That is why I want to use an AVR as the source, routing its pre amp outs accordingly. At a later stage, I am thinking about using a https://nuprime-x.com/product/h16aip/ as the source. The Nuprime does come with Dolby Atmos and other decoders and is only 950 USD. Since it is Dante based, I am experiencing with a Dante Interface (Tascam ML16D) for now but with a much simpler setup then the final one - a 5.1(2).2. The sub is set up as a 2 driver loudspeaker. For now, the source is a Denon 3700.
The measuring and filter building was easy using Dante Virtual Soundcard (100 USD) and the Dante Controller (free). It works well and sounds great.
The only thing I couldn't get working so far is using the AVR as the source instead of my Macbook. I can see on the Tascam front panel that there is input from the AVR, but no Output, neither visible on the Tascam nor HLC.
Does anybody see what I am missing? Here are some config Pics:
Mac MIDI setup:
HL Host:
HL Convolver (this picture is showing the Mac as a source, thats why there is output visible in HLC):
Dante Routing:
Keen to hear your thoughts!
